Oman Welcomes Biden’s Initiative for Ceasefire in Gaza

Oman has welcomed the initiative of President Joe Biden of the United States to implement a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. This initiative was reached in cooperation and coordination with the governments of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

In a statement issued by Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday, Oman expressed its support for all efforts to end the conflict between Israel and Hamas. Oman urged all parties to positively engage with such initiatives that preserve the legitimate rights and aspirations of the Palestinian people and alleviate their suffering.

Oman hopes that this action will lead to an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, paving the way for the reconstruction of Gaza and a return to normalcy in the region.

Oman also hopes that this initiative will be a step towards restoring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
