Omani Company Unveils Advanced Solar Panel Cleaning Robot

RAID (Robotics & AI Development), in collaboration with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), has introduced a new robot for cleaning solar panels. Designed and manufactured locally, this robot enhances the efficiency and sustainability of solar power plants by automatically cleaning panels as needed.

Abdulrahman Affan Al Hajji, Head of RAID, stated, “This high-performance robot is designed to clean large solar panel stations and significantly reduces the need for manual labor and the risks associated with manual cleaning.”

He added, “The robot has been tested at PDO, with results demonstrating its excellent performance. Capable of operating in various weather conditions, the device efficiently cleans over 700 solar panels.”

Al Hajji emphasized that this technology helps reduce water consumption in cleaning processes, boosts solar energy productivity, and decreases reliance on non-renewable energy sources, thereby ensuring the sustainability of solar power plants.
