Oman’s Vehicle Fleet Surpasses 1.7 Million

According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the number of registered vehicles in Oman reached 1,728,931 by the end of September 2024.
This figure reflects a steady growth in Oman’s vehicle fleet. Of the total, 79.6 percent are privately owned, comprising 1,376,221 private cars.
Engine Capacities and Vehicle Colors
The majority of registered vehicles have engine capacities between 1,500 and 3,000 cc, representing 54.3 percent of the total, or 939,398 vehicles. White remains the most popular vehicle color in Oman, accounting for 42.5 percent of vehicles (approximately 735,599 cars).
Commercial, Rental, and Taxi Vehicles
In the commercial sector, which includes trucks and business-related vehicles, 14.5 percent of the total fleet (or 251,305 vehicles) falls under this category. Rental vehicles represent 2.2 percent, totaling 37,890 cars, while taxis make up 1.6 percent, with 28,174 registered vehicles.
Vehicle Weights
Most vehicles (around 90.7 percent) weigh less than 3 tons, totaling 1,568,048 vehicles.
These statistics highlight the consistent growth of Oman’s vehicle fleet, with a wide range of ownership and utilization across various sectors.
