Sohar Fort Welcomes Over 1,170 Visitors During Eid Al Fitr Holiday

Sohar – April 9, 2025 | One of Oman’s most iconic landmarks, Sohar Fort, attracted over 1,170 visitors during the Eid Al Fitr holidays, including both citizens and residents.
Sultan Ali Al Muqbali, Director of Sohar Fort Museum, noted that visitors were particularly drawn to the fort’s unique architecture, rare artefacts, and its strategic historical importance throughout the centuries.
Constructed between the 13th and early 14th centuries, the fort features a museum that explores various archaeological and historical aspects of Omani life, from copper trade to Oman’s ancient ties with Canton, China. Artefacts uncovered during excavations inside the fort and other historical sites in Oman are also on display.
