Special Number Plates for Electric Vehicles to Be Introduced in Oman from May 28
Muscat – May 27, 2025, The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced that starting from Wednesday, May 28, 2025, a new system of dedicated number plates for electric vehicles will be officially implemented.
These special plates, designed exclusively for eco-friendly electric vehicles, will help distinguish them on the roads and are part of the Sultanate’s broader push towards sustainable transportation and environmental responsibility.
This initiative is expected to support Oman’s vision for green mobility and facilitate better identification and policy support for low-emission vehicles.
