Muscat Taafi Center for Addiction Recovery Opens in Al Amerat

The Muscat Taafi Center was officially inaugurated today in Al Amerat, Muscat, as a dedicated medical facility for addiction treatment and rehabilitation. The center features a capacity of 130 beds and was established at a total cost of OMR 3.4 million (approximately USD 8.8 million).

This initiative is part of Oman’s broader strategy to improve mental health services, reduce addiction relapse rates, and support the social reintegration of recovering individuals. The center will offer comprehensive services, including medication-assisted treatment, psychological counseling, behavioral therapy, and post-recovery support.

According to the Ministry of Health, the facility is expected to play a vital role in elevating national public health standards and offering hope to families affected by substance dependency.
