Professional License Mandatory for Key Logistics Jobs in Oman Starting September 2025

The Ministry of Labour in Oman has announced that, effective 1 September 2025, obtaining a Professional Practice License will become mandatory for several key professions in the logistics sector.
Objective of the New Requirement
This initiative is part of the Ministry’s strategy to regulate the labour market, enhance workforce efficiency, and ensure adherence to approved professional standards in Oman’s logistics sector.
Targeted Professions
The directive applies to all individuals, both Omani and expatriate, who are currently working in or intend to work in the following professions:
- Refrigerated Truck Driver (Tractor-Trailer)
- Water Tanker Driver (Tractor-Trailer)
- Tractor Head Driver (Trailer)
- Waste Transport Truck Driver
- Food Delivery Representative
- Food Delivery Supervisor
Work Permit Conditional on License
Starting from September 1, work permits (issuance or renewal) for these roles will be contingent upon obtaining a Professional Practice License from the Sectoral Skills Unit – Logistics Sector. No permit will be processed without it.
