Jail and OMR 10,000 Fine for Unauthorized Use of Drones in Oman

June 19, 2025, under the current laws of the Sultanate of Oman, any use of remotely piloted aircraft, drones, or any other flying object within the territory of the country without prior authorization from the competent authority is considered a punishable offense.

According to official sources, violators may face up to one year in prison and a fine of OMR 10,000.

This regulation is part of efforts to safeguard national security, prevent breaches of airspace, and mitigate potential threats. Authorities have emphasized that any aerial activity or drone operation requires formal approval in advance from the responsible bodies in the country.
