Oman has officially announced that the first day of Eid Al Adha in 2024 will be on Monday, June 17.
The state-run Oman News Agency (ONA) stated in a social media post that the month of Dhu Al Hijjah will begin on Saturday.
ONA added: “The first day of Dhu Al Hijjah 1445 AH will be this Saturday. Therefore, the first day of Eid Al Adha 1445 AH will be on Monday, June 17, 2024, as confirmed by the Main Moon-sighting Committee.”
This announcement implies:
Arafat Day: 9 Dhu Al Hijjah, corresponding to Sunday, June 16
Eid Al Adha 2024: 10 to 12 Dhu Al Hijjah, corresponding to Monday, June 17 to Wednesday, June 19
Eid Al Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of the holiest periods in the Islamic calendar. During this time, special prayers, feasts, and acts of charity are observed.
