577 Prisoners Pardoned in Oman Ahead of Eid Al Fitr 2025; Over 7,000 Pardoned During Sultan Haitham’s Reign

On the occasion of Eid Al Fitr 2025 (1446 AH), His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Oman, has issued a special Royal Pardon for 577 prisoners convicted in various cases. According to the Royal Oman Police, this pardon includes a number of foreign nationals.

This humanitarian gesture reflects Oman’s commitment to values of compassion, rehabilitation, and support for the families of prisoners, and aligns with the spirit of the blessed Eid.

Over 7,000 Pardoned Since 2020

Since ascending to the throne in 2020, His Majesty Sultan Haitham has pardoned a total of 7,133 prisoners, including both Omani citizens and expatriates. This ongoing initiative highlights the Sultanate’s dedication to forgiveness, human dignity, and offering second chances for reintegration into society.
