Drunk Passenger on Oman Air Flight Sentenced to Six Months in Prison

A drunk passenger intending to travel with Oman Air has been sentenced to six months in prison after causing a disturbance and assaulting a police officer.

According to British media reports, the incident occurred on April 30, 2025, prior to an Oman Air flight at London Heathrow Airport. The passenger, identified as Jake Miller, 37, was heavily intoxicated and became involved in an argument with his partner onboard the aircraft. In a degrading act, he spat in her face.

After the flight crew intervened and police were called, the passenger assaulted a police officer while being escorted off the plane, grabbing him by the neck and physically attacking him. Following the altercation, he was restrained, lost consciousness, and was removed from the aircraft on a stretcher.

A UK court sentenced Miller to 26 weeks (six months) in prison and ordered him to pay £400 in compensation to the police officer. He pleaded guilty to being drunk on an aircraft, assaulting an emergency services worker, and committing violence against his partner.

In the same case, another individual related to the passenger, who was also behaving disorderly, was convicted in absentia. An arrest warrant has been issued for him, and sentencing has been postponed to a later date.

The incident once again highlights the strict enforcement of international aviation laws regarding intoxicated passengers and violent behavior on flights.
