File Transfer Between iPhone and Android Finally Becomes Possible: Quick Share Works with AirDrop — With Limitations

30 November 2025
Google announced that the Quick Share feature on Android can now communicate directly with Apple’s AirDrop, marking a rare breakthrough that makes file transfer between iPhones and Android phones easier than ever.

According to the published technical details, users can transfer images, videos, and files between iPhone and Android devices without the need for third-party applications. This feature is currently available only on the Pixel 10 and is expected to roll out to more models in the coming weeks.

However, the current limitation is that transfers are only enabled in the “Everyone for 10 minutes” mode, and the “Contacts Only” option is not yet supported, as this integration was implemented without direct cooperation from Apple. Google stated that it is ready to cooperate with Apple to further enhance this feature.

This development could mark the beginning of a new era of interaction between the two major technology ecosystems, potentially reshaping the future of file transfer, smart sharing, and cross-platform communication standards.
