Oman Achieves Major Milestone in Fiber Optic Growth: Aiming for One Million Units by 2025

The Oman Broadband Company has reported a significant milestone of 301,000 active fiber optic subscribers by the end of October 2024, moving closer to its target of covering one million units across all governorates by 2025. Led by a highly skilled Omani team, the company is committed to enhancing services throughout Oman.
Eng. Sultan bin Ahmed al Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Broadband Company, noted that Muscat currently has a 56.2% subscription rate, equivalent to 169,052 subscribers. Other regions are also on board: Buraimi with 2.6%, South and North Batinah with 9.8% and 13.5%, respectively, and Dhofar with a 5.9% subscription rate.
Oman Broadband, with experienced contractors and technicians, has launched comprehensive training programs aimed at skill enhancement, ensuring fiber optic accessibility across Oman’s geographical landscape.
