His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, inaugurated the Grand National Day Military Parade on 20 November 2025 at Al-Fath Square in the Al-Wutayyah district of Muscat. Her Highness the First Lady also attended the ceremony.
Upon the Sultan’s arrival, he was received by senior state officials. After taking his place on the podium, 21 ceremonial cannon shots were fired, followed by the playing of the Royal Anthem.
Units from all branches of Oman’s defense and security institutions took part in the parade, including the Army, Air Force, Navy, Royal Guard, Royal Special Force, Royal Oman Police, military bands, and cavalry units.
Ceremonial units and forces in operational uniforms marched before the royal dais accompanied by joint military bands. The parade also featured the traditional military art of “Al-Hebut,” a cavalry musical performance, and an aerial display by fighter jets and helicopters showcasing the readiness and combat capabilities of Oman’s Armed Forces.
The ceremony concluded with the national anthem “Faltaslamy Oman,” the loyalty motto:
“Faith in God – Loyalty to the Sultan – Defense of the Homeland,”
and a threefold chant wishing long life and good health to His Majesty.
