Oman Imposes Anti-Dumping Tariffs on Ceramic Tile Imports from China and India

The Sultanate of Oman has announced that, effective May 29, 2025, anti-dumping tariffs will be imposed on imports of ceramic and porcelain tiles from China and India.
This decision aims to protect local industries and counter unfair trade practices, particularly dumping—where foreign companies export products at prices below production cost. The measure aligns with WTO principles and ensures fair competition for domestic manufacturers.
Tariff rates vary by exporting company, country of origin, and water absorption level of the product, ranging from 17.6% to 70%. Imports from other countries remain exempt (0%).
📌 Important Note for Importers:
From May 29, 2025, Omani customs authorities will enforce these tariff rates. Importers are urged to review their contracts, cost structures, and import permits accordingly.
