“Hafeet Railways” Signs Global Partnerships to Develop the UAE-Oman Rail Link

Hafeet Railways has signed two strategic agreements with leading global firms:
✅ Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Power China for the design and construction of railway infrastructure in Oman.
✅ China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) to supply a fleet of modern freight wagons.

These agreements mark a key milestone in the execution of the UAE-Oman railway connection project, significantly enhancing efficient and sustainable freight transportation in the region.

Infrastructure Development and Project Expansion

• Design and construction of railway infrastructure in Buraimi and Sohar in collaboration with L&T and Power China, following international standards for handling bulk materials, containers, and uncontainerized cargo.
• Establishment of maintenance and repair facilities for trains and freight wagons at Sohar station, improving operational efficiency and ensuring long-term train performance.
• Expansion of the railway network and increased transport capacity through a new fleet of freight wagons supplied by CRRC.
• Positioning Oman as a key commercial hub in the global supply chain by establishing sustainable links between industrial centers and regional and international markets.

Enhancing Economic Connectivity and Creating Business Opportunities

• 📌 Hafeet Railways had previously signed several key contracts for the UAE-Oman railway project, including projects related to signaling and control, locomotive fleet supply, and independent safety assessment.
• 📌 This project will facilitate economic development and strengthen trade connections between the UAE and Oman, in addition to opening new trade corridors and enhancing regional logistics competitiveness.
• 📌 Strategic agreements will help attract cross-border investments and create lucrative opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs, while also improving the efficiency of regional supply chains.
