Hajj Registration Opens for Omani Citizens and Residents

The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Oman has announced the opening of registration for the 1446 Hajj season. Omani citizens and residents aged 18 and above who wish to perform Hajj can register online via the official portal www.hajj.om from 4 to 17 November. Oman has been allocated a quota of 14,000 pilgrims this year.
Registration Methods The Ministry has provided three methods for registration:
- Civil ID
- Personal ID card
- Mobile number (if equipped with an electronic authentication system)
Those who meet certain criteria, such as men aged 67 and above, women aged 65 and above, and individuals with visual or motor disabilities, are allowed to register with an accompanying individual. Female applicants must designate a mahram (close male relative) who is also registered in the system.
Registration Requirements Applicants must use a valid Civil ID, personal mobile number, or email address to receive notifications and essential communications. Technical support is available through the Ministry’s hotline at 80008008 during working hours, and inquiries can be submitted online via the Hajj portal.
Transparency in Registration The Ministry emphasized that Hajj companies are prohibited from intervening in the registration process. Applicants must register directly via the official portal, and for applications submitted on behalf of others, relevant documents such as medical reports or certified wills must be uploaded.
Quota Allocation Registration does not guarantee a spot; eligible candidates will be selected based on data verification within Oman’s 14,000-pilgrim quota as determined by Saudi authorities. Once selected, applicants must:
- Choose their authorized Hajj company from the Ministry’s approved list
- Complete medical exams, including COVID-19 vaccinations
- Pay all required fees to confirm their spot
Final Notes If the process is not completed within the deadline, the allocated spot will be reassigned. The Ministry has also stated that applications submitted outside the official portal or after the deadline will not be accepted.
