Harvest of 14 Tons of Yellow Melon in Oman Begins from Al Mudhaibi Farms

The harvest season for yellow melon in Oman officially began on Monday in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi, North Al Sharqiyah Governorate. Fatma bint Mohammed Al Habsiya, who manages her own agricultural project, announced that this year around 14 tons of yellow melon were harvested from an area of 2 acres, compared to 10 tons three seasons ago—a notable increase in production.
Fatma Al Habsiya explained that the idea of cultivating yellow melon in Oman started nearly six years ago as an experiment. Following its success in the first year, she continued the project annually, ensuring suitable soil preparation and water supply for optimal growth.
She highlighted that investing in the cultivation of yellow melon in Oman provided a strategic opportunity, especially with the strong demand for fresh produce in local markets during this time of year.
It is worth noting that the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi is renowned for its seasonal agricultural production in Oman, thanks to abundant water resources, with products like yellow melon in Oman now widely available in local markets.
