His Majesty Sultan Haitham to Pay State Visit to the Netherlands on 15–16 April 2025

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will embark on a state visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands on April 15 and 16, 2025, at the invitation of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander.

The visit marks the 400th anniversary of maritime relations between the two countries and will focus on strengthening economic cooperation, advancing projects in renewable energy and green hydrogen, enhancing water management, and promoting sustainable mobility.

📅 Official Programme

Tuesday 15 April – Amsterdam

• Morning:
  Welcome ceremony at Dam Square, Amsterdam. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will officially welcome the Sultan. The Marine Band will perform national anthems, followed by an inspection of the guard of honour and a private lunch at the Royal Palace.
• Midday:
  The Sultan will lay a wreath at the National Monument on Dam Square.
• Afternoon:
  CEO business meeting with Dutch company leaders interested in Oman, joined by the president of VNO-NCW.
• Evening:
  State Banquet hosted by the King and Queen at the Royal Palace, with speeches by both monarchs. Princess of Orange will also attend

Wednesday 16 April – The Hague & Voorschoten

Afternoon:
Government lunch hosted by Prime Minister Dick Schoof at Duivenvoorde Castle, attended by the King and Queen. The lunch will cover bilateral relations, trade, energy transition, green hydrogen production, and regional developments. Both the Prime Minister and Sultan will deliver remarks.

Morning:
Visit to the States General and meetings with the Presidents of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
