Historic Surge in Gold Prices in Global and Omani Markets

📌 Gold Breaks the $3,000 Mark.. Omani Gold Prices Also on the Rise

March 14th saw a new record in the global gold markets, where the price of gold ounce (XAU/USD) reached $3,005 before closing the day at $2,985. This surge reflects the increasing demand for gold as a safe-haven asset amid global economic uncertainties.

Gold valuation in Oman is closely tied to the exchange rate of the Omani Rial (OMR) against the US Dollar (USD). Since the Omani Rial is pegged to the US Dollar, fluctuations in global gold prices directly impact the gold market in Oman.

In this context, the gold price in Oman’s foreign exchange market (XAU/OMR) reached 1,156.9 and ended Friday at 1,148.6.

Currently, one Omani Rial is equivalent to approximately 2.6 US Dollars.

As global markets remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays, USD-based gold prices remain unchanged during this period.
