The wheat harvest season has begun in Al Dhahirah Governorate. This year, the cultivated area for this crop has increased to over 450 hectares, compared to 300 hectares last year, marking a significant expansion. The projected wheat production is expected to exceed 460 tons.
Major Wheat-Producing Regions and Harvest Readiness in Oman
The Ibri and Dhank provinces lead wheat production in the governorate. The General Directorate of Agricultural and Water Resources in Al Dhahirah, along with agriculture and water resource departments, oversee farms and food security projects.
Agricultural Equipment and Farmer Support
All harvesting machinery, including electric and mechanical reapers and combine harvesters for large farms, are fully operational. Farmers are utilizing modern equipment supported by the Ministry of Agriculture for efficient harvesting.

Due to ample water resources and fertile soil, wheat remains a key crop in the governorate.
