Illegal Furniture Manufacturing and Upholstery Sparks Regulatory Warning in Sohar

The Consumer Protection Authority in North Al Batinah Governorate has announced the detection of unauthorized furniture manufacturing and upholstery operations being carried out by expatriate workers in Sohar, in a location that failed to meet basic health and safety standards.

Violation of Consumer Protection Law
Authorities confirmed the activity violates Article (3) of the Consumer Protection Law, which prohibits offering any goods or services without meeting health and safety requirements or obtaining the proper licenses. It also breaches Article (19) of the Executive Regulations, which prohibits any deceptive practices regarding the nature or safety of goods and services.

Legal Action Initiated
Upon confirming the violation, legal teams initiated appropriate procedures and referred the case to the relevant authorities.

Public Health Warning and Call to Report
The Authority warned that such unauthorized practices pose a direct threat to public health and reiterated its commitment to strict enforcement. Citizens and residents are urged to report any such violations through official channels.
