According to a report by the Times of India, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is planning to visit the Sultanate of Oman in mid-December 2025, a trip that is likely to lead to the signing of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries.
The visit is being arranged in the framework of strengthening economic partnership and expanding strategic cooperation between Muscat and New Delhi. The main focus of the talks is expected to be on increasing trade volume, facilitating mutual investment, and developing cooperation in logistics and energy sectors.
If finalized, the Free Trade Agreement could reduce customs tariffs between the two countries, facilitate the flow of goods and services, and strengthen Oman’s position as India’s commercial gateway to the Gulf and African markets.
Oman and India have experienced steadily growing economic relations in recent years, and the signing of this agreement, if realized, could represent a major turning point in bilateral trade relations.
