Indonesia is set to launch the Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VoA) service for 97 countries, including Oman, in the first half of December 2024. This service will enable travelers to obtain visas online seamlessly.
Key Features of the Service:
- Online Platform: Travelers can complete the entire visa application process by visiting the VFS Global website. This includes submitting necessary documents and paying fees before departure.
- Multilingual Support: Support services will be available live and via email in several languages, including English, Arabic, German, French, Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean.
- Streamlined Entry: With online payment, travelers can enjoy a quicker entry experience through E-gates or immigration counters.
Silmy Karim, Director General of Immigration in Indonesia, stated, “Our goal is to provide new digital solutions that enhance the experience for foreign visitors. Our collaboration with VFS Global will effectively contribute to increasing foreign arrivals in Indonesia.”
The platform will also utilize OCR technology, enabling automatic population of applicant details, thus saving time and effort for applicants.
Indonesia has set a target of welcoming 14 million visitors in 2024 and has already achieved 9.92 million arrivals from January to August 2024. This initiative reflects Indonesia’s commitment to improving its tourism infrastructure and traveler services.
