Iran Calls for Emergency UN Security Council Meeting; China Condemns Israeli Attack

Muscat – 13 June 2025, Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations has officially called for an emergency session of the UN Security Council following Israel’s military strikes on Iranian territory, which resulted in dozens of civilian casualties.

The call seeks to address what Iran views as a blatant violation of its sovereignty and a dangerous escalation that threatens regional peace and stability.

Meanwhile, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a strong statement condemning the attack, voicing its firm opposition to the violation of Iran’s sovereignty and the expansion of conflict in the Middle East.

In an official statement, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said:

“We oppose any military action that escalates tensions or destabilizes the region. The sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations must be respected.”
