Central Bank of Oman Clarifies Mobile Payment System Fees

The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) has issued a clarification regarding the fees associated with financial transactions through the Mobile Payment System (MPCSS).
According to the CBO, the payment processing fees incurred when using the Merchant QR Code should be borne by the merchant, not the customer. This method is considered one of the lowest-cost payment options compared to other methods.
Furthermore, the CBO emphasized that the deduction of 100 baisas as a transfer fee applies only to money transfers between different banks and does not affect store purchases.
The Central Bank of Oman urged citizens to obtain information from reliable sources and highlighted the importance of accuracy in the dissemination of information.
