Launch of Al Thuraya Smart City in Bousher and Al Jabal Al Aali Project in Jabal Akhdar at Oman Real Estate Exhibition

Muscat – 19 May 2025, Under the patronage of Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, the Oman Real Estate Exhibition and the Design & Build Week officially kicked off, marking a key event for unveiling new urban projects and major investment deals in the Sultanate.
Highlighted Projects:
Al Thuraya Smart City – Bousher
- Planned in 3 development phases
- Phase 1: 3 million sqm, 2,600 housing units, population capacity of 8,000 residents
Al Jabal Al Aali Project – Jabal Akhdar
- Architecturally designed along 5.4 km of mountain ridge
- Comprises 3 villages, 10,000 residents, total area of 11.8 km²
Major Investment Agreements:
During the event, 9 key investment agreements worth over OMR 2.3 billion were signed, marking a major push toward urban infrastructure development and residential expansion across Oman.
Sultan Haitham City:
The largest portion of investment—OMR 1.7 billion—is allocated for developing six districts, while two additional zones (6C and 6D) entered design and execution with OMR 150 million in funding.
Al Thuraya Smart City:
District 6 will receive an investment of OMR 240 million, covering 285,000 sqm and delivering 1,000 housing units.
Al Jabal Al Aali Project:
Focused on wellness and medical tourism, this project includes 500 residential and hotel units in the western wellness village, backed by OMR 200 million.
Masaken Yanair (Sultan Haitham City):
A new 4-star hotel will be developed, featuring 170 hotel rooms, 123 serviced apartments, and 96 residential units, with an investment of OMR 45 million.
Halban – Barka:
A precast concrete elements factory will be established with an initial investment of OMR 2 million.
Al Thuraya Engineering & Infrastructure Tenders:
Site preparation and engineering supervision contracts worth a total of OMR 13 million were awarded.
