Launch of Seven New Road Infrastructure Projects in Oman

Oman has recently witnessed the launch of seven major road infrastructure projects. These initiatives are designed to enhance connectivity and transportation across the country, playing a significant role in Oman’s economic and social development.

Last week, Oman’s Tender Board approved seven road infrastructure projects worth over 119 million Omani Rials (approximately 309 million USD). These projects include:

  1. Widening of the Izki-Nizwa Road (46.8 million Omani Rials) to enhance safety and traffic flow.
  2. Widening of the Salalah-Mahout Road (34.8 million Omani Rials) with the construction of bridges and underpasses.
  3. Completion of the Abileh-Fayyad Road (19.5 million Omani Rials) featuring safety enhancements for better transit.
  4. Construction of five bridges on the Sohar-Al Buraimi Road (6 million Omani Rials) to improve safety.
  5. Design and execution of the Aqabat Afri Road (4.5 million Omani Rials) connecting Samail and Izki.
  6. Upgrade of the Saih Qutnah Road (4.5 million Omani Rials) to a dual lane.
  7. Construction of the Saih Al Khayrat-Shaysir Road (3.6 million Omani Rials) extending 9.4 kilometers.
