New Oman Regulation: Only Licensed Entities Can Advertise Medicines

Muscat – June 1, 2025, Oman’s Ministry of Health has issued Ministerial Resolution No. 135/2025, outlining new conditions for advertising or promoting medicines.
This step aims to enhance public health protection and ensure ethical and accurate pharmaceutical advertising.
Only licensed pharmaceutical companies, agents, or consultants can promote medicines—with prior approval from the Drug Safety Center.
Ads must match official leaflets, identify target groups, and avoid exaggeration or misleading claims.
Licenses are valid for three months, renewable under the same terms.
Prescription drug ads must be limited to scientific publications, conferences, or professional meetings with pharmacists and healthcare providers.
