Norway’s Nordic Electrofuel Plans e-SAF Production in Oman

Nordic Electrofuel, a leading Norwegian producer of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), has announced plans to establish an e-SAF production facility in Oman. The plant will leverage green hydrogen sourced from Oman’s burgeoning renewable energy sector, marking a significant step in supporting global decarbonization efforts.

Key Highlights of the Project

Strategic Location: Oman’s rich solar and wind resources make it an ideal hub for cost-effective renewable electricity generation.
Innovative Process: e-SAF is produced by combining hydrogen extracted from water (via electrolysis) with CO₂ captured from the atmosphere or industrial activities, resulting in low-carbon aviation fuel.
Boost for Aviation: This initiative aligns with global efforts to help airlines reduce their carbon emissions.
