The official groundbreaking ceremony for the two major urban development projects “Jood” in Sultan Haitham City and “Yamal” in the Al-Manooma area was held under the patronage of Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said and implemented by the Talaat Moustafa Group in cooperation with Oman’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning. These developments represent one of the largest urban investments in the Sultanate in recent years.
The two projects fall under a development agreement valued at more than OMR 1.7 billion, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, with the aim of economic diversification, strengthening the non-oil sector, and promoting sustainable urban development.
The “Jood” project, spanning 2.7 million square meters in Sultan Haitham City, will provide over 7,000 residential units within a smart and sustainable community that includes educational, healthcare, commercial, recreational, and sports facilities.
The coastal “Yamal” project, covering 2.2 million square meters with a 1,760-meter shoreline along the Sea of Oman, will include more than 6,000 residential and hotel units, a world-class marina, tourism facilities, and marine sports centers.
These two projects are expected to create thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities and play a significant role in stimulating the real estate market, attracting foreign investment, and enhancing Oman’s position on the regional urban development map. The official sale of units in both projects has begun as of today.
The Talaat Moustafa Group, one of the largest real estate developers in the Middle East with more than 55 years of experience, has previously developed major projects such as Madinaty and Al-Rehab in Egypt and Banan Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, and is now entering the Omani market through this major investment.
