According to Atheer, amendments introduced by the Royal Oman Police to the Executive Regulations of the Foreigners’ Residence Law allow a foreign buyer of a plot of land prepared for construction or a property unit whose registration procedures have not yet been completed to obtain a visa without a sponsor, based on a certificate issued by the competent authority.

The provisions also extend to the buyer’s spouse and first-degree relatives, as well as the legal representatives of a property-owning legal entity, subject to the applicable requirements and procedures.
