The Oman national football team secured a 1-1 draw against Kyrgyzstan in the qualifying rounds for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup, finishing at the top of Group Four. This match took place in the sixth and final round of the second qualifying stage at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bawshar.
As a result, the Oman national team accumulated 13 points and advanced as the top team in their group to the third and final stage of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Additionally, the team earned a spot in the finals of the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.
