Oman’s Livestock Market Prepared for Eid Al-Adha: 318,000 Sheep Available, 50,000 More on the Way

Muscat – June 2, 2025, An Omani official has confirmed the country’s readiness to meet livestock demand for the upcoming Eid Al-Adha. According to the official, over 318,000 sheep and 25,000 cattle are currently available across the Sultanate, with an additional 50,000 sheep expected to arrive soon.

He stressed that this supply is sufficient to meet market demand and will not lead to price hikes. These efforts are part of the government’s strategy to maintain price stability and ensure adequate availability for citizens and residents across Oman.
