The inaugural Oman-US Economic Forum was held in Washington D.C. to discuss ways to enhance trade and investment exchange between the two countries. The forum was organized by the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the United States of America in conjunction with the US Chamber of Commerce on the sidelines of the Second Oman-USA Strategic Dialogue.
The words of Sheikh Khalifa al-Harithi
Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the historical and strategic relations between Oman and the US, and the efforts made to promote trade and investment exchange between the two countries to achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
Investigation of investment opportunities and free trade agreement
There were two panels discussing “Trade and Investment” and “Renewable Energies”. Experts from both sides talked about the promising investment opportunities in Oman in these two sectors, as well as ways to make the most of the free trade agreement between the two countries.
Attendees at the Economic Forum Oman and USA
American government officials, representatives of American companies and prominent figures of Oman’s private sector were present in this forum. The aim of this forum was to attract American investments, especially in the field of renewable energy.
