The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman has welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel, expressing its appreciation for the international efforts that led to this accord.
According to a statement from the Ministry, Oman emphasized the need to end the war on Gaza and halt attacks on the West Bank, calling for de-escalation, an immediate end to the conflict, and the implementation of relevant international resolutions.
Regional Support for the Ceasefire
Both Saudi Arabia and Qatar also welcomed the agreement. Saudi Arabia, while commending the international efforts, stressed the importance of implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701, ensuring safe repatriation of displaced persons. Similarly, Qatar expressed its hope for a similar ceasefire in Gaza and the West Bank, underlining its commitment to regional peace and stability.
Key Provisions of the Ceasefire
Israeli media reported the main provisions of the ceasefire as follows:
- No attacks by Hezbollah or other resistance groups from Lebanese territory.
- No Israeli military action against targets in Lebanon.
- Commitment by both sides to UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
- Gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces to the south of the Blue Line within 60 days.
