Mays Motors has made history by launching Oman’s first electric vehicle (EV), an SUV named Mays Alive. The delivery of the first batch of these electric SUVs has begun, marking a significant milestone for the country’s automotive industry.

In an exclusive interview with Muscat Daily, Haider bin Adnan al Zaabi, co-founder of Mays Motors, stated:

“We have delivered the first batch of Mays Alive e-SUVs to customers this month. Reaching this milestone despite challenges and limited resources feels like a miracle.”

The Story Behind the Name ‘Mays’ & Key Features

Challenges & Future Plans

• The project was funded by a $1.5 million investment from Omani investors.
• 10 Omani engineers and technicians were involved in the production process.
• The vehicle’s specifications and design were finalized after visits to automotive hubs in Italy, Germany, China, the USA, and India.

Official Showcase at the Oman Automobile Exhibition

Mays Motors will showcase the Mays Alive at an event hosted by the Oman Automobile Association on February 24. The public will have the opportunity to test-drive and explore the vehicle.

The company aims to deliver between 300 and 500 electric vehicles by the end of 2025.
