Oman’s Three-Year Streak at the Top of Asia’s Quality of Life Ranking and Fourth Place Worldwide

According to the latest 2025 Global Quality of Life Index by Numbeo, Oman has maintained its first-place ranking in Asia and the Middle East for the third consecutive year. This achievement for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025 reflects the country’s structural stability in indicators of welfare, security, and urban living standards.

Based on the 2025 data, Oman scored 208.3 points to lead the region. Qatar followed in second place with 193.3 points, while the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia ranked next with approximately 177 points each. These figures show that Oman continues to lead its closest regional competitor by a significant margin.

A review of Numbeo’s 2023 and 2024 reports also confirms that Oman ranked first in Asia in both years and was simultaneously among the top four countries globally. Maintaining this position for three consecutive years is viewed by analysts as a clear sign of the sustainability of Oman’s development policies and the effectiveness of its economic and social governance.

Numbeo’s Quality of Life Index is calculated based on a combination of quantitative metrics and user-contributed evaluations. Key indicators include purchasing power, cost of living, property price-to-income ratio, public safety, healthcare quality, pollution levels, environmental conditions, and average commuting time. Oman’s strong performance across most of these indicators—especially in security, economic stability, and balanced living costs—has played a decisive role in securing this ranking.

Economic experts believe that Oman’s three-year leadership is the result of continued investment in urban infrastructure, development of the healthcare system, inflation control, monetary stability, improvement of the business environment, and strategic management of public resources—policies implemented within the framework of Oman Vision 2040.

At the regional and global levels, the continuity of this ranking sends a clear message to foreign investors, multinational companies, and skilled professionals: for three consecutive years, Oman has established itself as one of the most stable, safe, and attractive destinations for living and economic activity in Asia and the Middle East, further strengthening its position in regional economic and social dynamics.
