According to data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the total number of registered vehicles in Oman reached 1,798,062 by the end of June 2025, marking a 5.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
Vehicle Types
Private vehicles accounted for the largest share, with 1,425,308 units (79.3% of the total). They were followed by commercial vehicles with 264,913 units (14.7%) and rental vehicles with 41,386 units (2.3%). The remaining percentage includes taxis, government vehicles, and other categories.
Distribution by Color
White vehicles topped the list with 761,358 units (42.3%), followed by silver vehicles with 231,822 units (12.9%) and grey vehicles with 181,140 units.
Distribution by Engine Capacity
Vehicles with engine capacities between 1,500 and 3,000 cc represented the highest proportion, with 979,300 units (54.5%). They were followed by those with 3,001–4,500 cc engines, totaling 399,770 units (22.2%).
Distribution by Weight
Vehicles weighing less than 3 tonnes accounted for 90.7% of the total, equivalent to 1,631,392 units.
