By the end of June 2024, the total number of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) registered in Oman reached 141,126, according to the Authority of Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED). The report reveals that more than 120,000 of these are micro-enterprises, over 19,000 are small enterprises, and around 1,100 are medium-sized.
The report also highlights the services and initiatives provided to these businesses. In the first half of 2024, 18 business incubators hosted 85 companies, creating 198 job opportunities for Omani youth and generating over OMR 800,000 in revenue.
During this period, 10,388 companies obtained the Entrepreneurship Card, which provides a range of benefits from both government and private entities.
