SalamAir Achieves 86% On-Time Performance for its Flights

SalamAir, Oman’s low-cost airline, announced on Monday that 86% of its flights were operated on time in the third quarter of 2024.
Releasing its On-Time Performance (OTP) report for Q3 2024 (July, August, and September), the airline stated that it operated 5,805 flights and completed 86% of these flights on time. This performance compares favorably with the global OTP benchmark, which aims for 85% of flights to depart on time.
During this period, SalamAir carried over 970,000 passengers.
OTP is a key metric for measuring how often an airline’s flights are on time and indicates the airline’s ability to meet its commitment to punctuality. Captain Ahmed Al Shidhani, SalamAir’s Chief Operations Officer, said: “We believe it is important to be transparent with our customers, and that is why we have chosen to share our OTP performance.” He added: “Increasing the information available to customers will help them make an informed choice in selecting an airline for their travel needs. We will continue to share our quarterly OTP results through media releases and on our website, Salamair.com.“
OTP calculations include all delays, including those caused by weather, and reflect an airline’s reliability in adhering to its scheduled departure times.
SalamAir also announced that it will publish its OTP results quarterly, providing valuable insights for customers to make informed travel decisions.
