Signing of 10 Agreements by Sultan of Oman and Turkish President

Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey oversaw the signing of 10 agreements and memorandums of understanding on Thursday, November 28, during an official ceremony in Ankara, the Turkish capital. This event was part of the Sultan’s state visit to Turkey aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Speech by His Majesty Sultan of Oman
During the ceremony, Sultan Haitham delivered a speech expressing satisfaction with the relations between Oman and Turkey and emphasizing the importance of economic, cultural, and political collaboration. He stated:
“We are keen to strengthen historical ties and expand cooperation in renewable energy, defense industries, and healthcare.”
The Sultan also highlighted the importance of cultural dialogues and the role of Oman and Turkey in promoting regional peace and stability.

Remarks by Turkish President
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his remarks, thanked Oman for its support during the Turkish earthquake crisis and stated:
“These agreements mark the beginning of a new chapter in cooperation between the two countries, including joint projects in defense industries, energy, and investments.”
He also announced the start of liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports from Oman to Turkey in 2025 and called for further economic ties development.
