Muscat – 20 May 2025, The Royal Court of Oman has announced the postponement of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s official visit to the Kingdom of Spain, which was originally scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 20 May 2025.
This decision comes following the passing of the Sultan’s mother-in-law, Sayyida Badriya bint Ali bin Hamad Al Busaidiyah. A new date for the visit will be announced at a later time.
In the statement issued by the Royal Court, it was noted that this decision was taken due to changes in diplomatic schedules, and that a new date for the visit will be announced in due course.
The planned visit to Spain was part of Oman’s ongoing efforts to strengthen relations with the European Union and expand bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, and cultural spheres. However, under the current circumstances, rescheduling of the visit is now being coordinated by the Royal Court of Oman.
