The Royal Oman Police (ROP) Directorate of Relations and Security Information has announced that traffic restrictions will be imposed in Muscat Governorate on Saturday, February 8, 2025, to facilitate the Ironman World Championship 2025. The event will include swimming, cycling, and running competitions.
Cycling Race Route and Traffic Restrictions
The race will start behind W Muscat Hotel, with cyclists heading toward the Ministry of Foreign Affairs traffic lights, turning right at the Royal Opera House Muscat traffic lights, and continuing toward Culture Roundabout.
The race route will return in front of the Ministry of Health, passing through Al Sarouj traffic lights, turning left onto Darsait-Qurum Road, and continuing through Al Bustan and Al Wadi Al Kabir to Matrah Corniche.
Cyclists will then proceed to Darsait traffic lights, turning left toward Ruwi and continuing to Al Amerat via Wadi Aday. The route will return from the roundabout opposite Al Amerat Police Station toward Qurum via Wadi Aday and Al Wattayah, turning right at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs traffic lights and concluding at the starting point.
Parking Restrictions and Driver Advisory
- 📌 Parking on both sides of the roads along the race route is strictly prohibited.
- 📌 Motorists are advised to plan their travel in advance to avoid delays.
The Royal Oman Police urges all drivers to follow traffic regulations and use alternative routes where possible.
