Trump Announces End of Iran-Israel War After 12 Days of Escalation

24 June 2025
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that a full ceasefire agreement has been reached between Iran and Israel, officially ending what he described as “the twelve-day war.”

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated: “After 24 hours, the war between Israel and Iran will officially end.” According to him, Iran will begin the ceasefire in about six hours, followed by Israel twelve hours later.

He said the ceasefire would formally begin at 4 a.m. GMT on Tuesday, adding: “We have prevented a war that could have lasted for years.”

Trump praised both nations, saying: “The war could have destroyed the entire region if it continued. I congratulate both Iran and Israel for having the wisdom, courage, and intelligence to end what should now be called the Twelve-Day War.”

He concluded his post with: “God bless Israel, Iran, and the Middle East.”

Earlier on Monday night, Trump revealed that Iran had given prior notice to the United States before launching missiles at its base in Qatar, which helped avoid casualties.

“No Americans were harmed, and no significant damage occurred,” he wrote, adding: “More importantly, they abandoned any pressing urge to strike back. Let’s hope this marks the end of hatred.”

Trump also said he hoped Iran would now move toward peace and harmony in the region, and that he would enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same.

He described Iran’s response to the destruction of its nuclear facilities as “very weak,” and concluded: “Congratulations to the world. It is time for peace.”
