The Women’s Wrestling Championship, part of the “Sports Spark” event organized by the Muscat Governorate in collaboration with the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre, will begin this Friday, August 16, 2024. The championship will feature athletes from 10 countries and 10 local and international clubs, including Omani participants who have competed in regional and international tournaments.
The “Sports Spark” event will continue until August 24 and will include a range of sports activities designed for the entire family. One of the special programs is a summer camp for children aged 6 to 14, where martial arts will be taught.
Wadih Al-Harthi, Event Manager at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre, announced that 100 children are participating in the program, divided into groups of 40 to ensure the best educational experience.
He added: “The Women’s Wrestling Championship on August 16 aims to promote this sport in Oman and provide opportunities for both amateur and professional athletes.”
Additionally, Saturday, August 17 will be dedicated to women, allowing them to engage in sports activities in a suitable environment.
