June 29 Declared Official Holiday in Oman for Islamic New Year

June 19, 2025, Oman’s Ministry of Labour has announced that Sunday, June 29, 2025 will be an official public holiday for both public and private sectors, marking the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Hijrah and the beginning of the Hijri year 1447.
The Ministry clarified that work may continue on that day if necessary, provided that employees are compensated in accordance with applicable labour regulations.
On this blessed occasion, the Ministry extended its warmest congratulations to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman, praying for his continued health, longevity, and well-being, and wishing prosperity and blessings for the Sultanate and the Islamic world.
