Oman Across Ages Museum Wins Global Versailles Architecture and Design Award

The Oman Across Ages Museum has won the Versailles Global Award for Architecture and Design in the category of Best Exterior Design, earning the title of one of the world’s most beautiful museums in 2024. This announcement was made today by UNESCO in Paris.

Excellence Among the Best

The museum was selected from seven newly established or reopened museums known for their creativity, reflection of local heritage, environmental sustainability, and positive impact on their surroundings. Its exterior design showcases Oman’s rich history and culture.

Statement by the Museum Director

Engineer Al-Yaqzan bin Abdullah Al-Harthi, Director of the Oman Across Ages Museum, stated:

“The Versailles Global Award for Architecture and Design honors the finest contemporary projects worldwide, awarding 24 global titles across categories such as airports, universities, passenger terminals, museums, and more.”

He added:

“This year, for the first time in the award’s history, museums were included as an architectural sector. The exterior design of the Oman Across Ages Museum participated in this prestigious competition.”
