Over 1,200 Expats Deported from Oman in May

The Ministry of Labour of Oman has announced that over 1,200 expatriate workers were deported from the country in May 2024 for various violations.
According to a statement from the Ministry, the Joint Inspection Team Office within the General Directorate of Labour Welfare, in collaboration with the Inspection Unit of the Security and Safety Services Corporation, managed to arrest 1,725 workers and deport 1,260 of them during May 2024.
The Ministry of Labour is intensifying its inspections on private sector establishments and monitoring the expatriate workforce across all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. These efforts aim to regulate and organize the labour market in alignment with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
