The number of vehicles in Oman has exceeded 1.84 million

According to the latest statistics published by the National Center for Statistics and Information of Oman, the total number of registered vehicles in Oman by the end of November 2025 has reached 1,842,651 units, showing a 5.6% increase compared to the same period last year. This is while the figure in November 2024 was about 1,745,642 units.
Based on this report, private cars still constitute the main pillar of the country’s transportation fleet, with 1,458,764 units registered, holding the largest share; a figure that indicates a 5% increase compared to last year.
Next in rank are commercial vehicles with 272,233 units, which have experienced a 7.7% growth. Also:
- Rental cars have seen a significant jump, growing by 12.4% to reach 44,075 units;
- Motorcycles have increased by 12.6%, registering 8,609 units;
- Taxi vehicles have also grown slightly (0.9%) to reach 28,495 units.
Vehicle Colors
From the perspective of color, white remains the most popular color among Omani vehicles, accounting for 778,846 units. Following that:
- Silver color with 237,055 units
- Gray color with about 190,278 units
- Black color also has a significant share with 98,333 units, and among these, the noticeable growth of blue vehicles with 102,372 units registered draws attention.
Engine Volume
In terms of engine volume, the largest share belongs to vehicles with an engine size of 1500 to 3000 cc, numbering over one million units. Following that:
- Vehicles with 3001 to 4500 cc with 407,507 units
- Vehicles with less than 1500 cc with 154,127 units
- And vehicles with more than 4500 cc with 228,025 units rank next.

Vehicle Weight
In terms of weight, vehicles weighing less than 3 tons dominate the market share, reaching a total of 1,671,480 units. Continuing:
- Vehicles 3 to 7 tons: 53,459 units
- Vehicles 7 to 10 tons: 39,846 units
- Vehicles over 10 tons: 77,866 units
These statistics reflect the continuous growth in demand for transportation and the dynamism of the automotive market in the Sultanate of Oman during the year 2025.
